NORTH BROOKFIELD — The North Brookfield Board of Selectmen reorganized Tuesday, electing Jamie Gilman chairman, Ralph Kaye vice chairman and Pete Orsi clerk, while honoring outgoing member Jason Petratis for 13 years of service. State Rep. Donny Berthian, as identified in the meeting, presented Petratis a citation, telling him "everybody in this room knows how dedicated you were." The board approved $20,000 in Chapter 90 funds for BSC Engineering to draft bridge-easement plans on Madbrook Road and a $3,000 grant for a new commercial refrigerator at the Senior Center.

Officials reported just 518 of 3,733 registered voters, 13.8 percent, turned out for Monday's town election, which filled School Committee, water commissioner and other seats. Mary Cormier was appointed the Council on Aging's new program assistant.
