North Brookfield Select Board Approves Single Property Tax Rate for All Classes

NORTH BROOKFIELD — December 10, 2025 — North Brookfield Select Board votes to maintain a single tax rate for residential and commercial properties. The board voted unanimously at its December 10 meeting to continue the town's longstanding practice of applying one uniform tax rate to all property classes rather than splitting the levy. Assessors told the board the final rate per thousand dollars cannot be calculated until the state reviews the town's submission and returns certified figures. The town's small commercial property base was cited as the primary reason a split rate remains impractical.
