Water Board Reorganizes, Approves FY27 Budget
Water Department · Meeting of May 18, 2026
North Brookfield water board reorganizes under new leadership, approves FY27 budget with contested wages. The Board of Water Commissioners elected Don Gillette as chair and unanimously approved the FY27 budget, which includes wage increases for administrative assistant Lindsey Rockwood and a water operator exceeding the town's standard 2 percent guideline. Superintendent Jamie Flamand presented documentation to the Finance Committee showing previous administrative assistants received increases as high as 6 percent without formal challenge, and noted the Sewer Department's $10,000 annual contribution to the administrative assistant's salary has not increased despite the role's expanded responsibilities.
The board also approved a barter arrangement with Lynch Contracting for regrind material needed for the treatment and pump stations.
