Water board approves FY27 budget, increases service fees
Water Department · Meeting of March 9, 2026
North Brookfield water board approves fiscal 2027 budget and raises service fees. The Board of Water Commissioners unanimously approved the budget and adopted three fee increases: final readings from $25 to $50, cross-connection and backflow testing from $60 to $70, and changed the billing cycle from bi-annual to quarterly. Superintendent Jamie Flamand reported the department addressed water breaks at 13 Bates Street from pipe rot and four breaks on Old East Brookfield Road from failed couplings; the aging infrastructure in that area is approximately 50 years old.
Lead operator Robbie Peterson submitted his resignation to pursue a new career.
