NORTH BROOKFIELD — Sewer board approves septage disposal rate increase to $0.12 per gallon. The North Brookfield Sewer Commission raised the septage disposal fee by $0.01 per gallon effective September 1, 2026, based on analysis showing treatment and disposal costs exceed revenues. Chair Jason Petraitis, Vice Chair Tim Davis, and Clerk Jamie Gilman approved the increase following testing by Superintendent Eric Cardenas that documented elevated solids concentrations in septage samples.
The board will reevaluate the rate after several months and temporarily regulate septage volume to assess treatment process impacts.
