Sewer Board Approves $6,000 Lawn Mower Purchase

Sewer Department · Meeting of March 10, 2026

North Brookfield Sewer Department approves equipment purchases and eyes clarifier replacement funding. The board unanimously approved a $6,000 lawn mower purchase after the existing unit broke beyond repair, and reported the facilities upgrade passed final occupancy inspection pending a spring asphalt review. Sewer Superintendent Eric Cardenas received Department of Environmental Protection approval for a grade 7 license upgrade.

The department treated 100,000 gallons of septage in February, generating $10,000 in revenue, and plans to reapply for FY27 grant funding to replace clarifiers after the Community Development Block Grant was not approved by Congress and the State Revolving Fund was not approved by DEP.
