Selectmen assume Sewer Commission duties following mass resignation

NORTH BROOKFIELD — Selectmen appoint themselves to Sewer Commission following mass resignation. The North Brookfield Board of Selectmen unanimously appointed three of its members — Chair Jamie Gilman, Vice Chair Ralph Kay, and member Jason Petraitis — to the Sewer Commission to fill the vacancy left by the entire board's resignation in September and October 2025. The board approved warrants totaling $973,069.59 and authorized Fire Department grant applications for $5,500 in Student Awareness of Fire Education funding and $2,800 for Senior Fire Safety Education.
In other business, the selectmen voted to sign a Timely Expenditure Waiver Request for current Community Development Block Grant projects, enabling town application for fiscal year 2026 funds.
