Selectmen approve FY27 budget with new administrative post

Board of Selectmen · Meeting of June 2, 2026

North Brookfield Board of Selectmen approves FY27 budget with new administrative position. Chair Jamie Gilman presented a balanced budget creating a Town Executive Assistant post after an unsuccessful Town Administrator search, with approximately $1.2 million in debt exclusions driven by fire and highway projects. The Town Accountant position increases from 32 to 40 hours per week for a $14,800 salary increase.

Department budgets rise across Police (up 23 percent), Fire, Highway (up $50,000), Tree Warden (up $5,000), and Library (up $14,000), while water and sewer enterprise funds increase roughly $24,782.
