Selectmen approve $894,000 in warrants; rehire water department operator

North Brookfield Selectmen approve nearly $894,000 in warrants, appoint water operator. The board unanimously approved five warrants totaling $894,396.18, including $183,117.67 for school operations. Zachary Ramaska, a former Water Department employee, was unanimously appointed as Lead Operator and will return with current certifications requiring minimal additional training.
The board also unanimously approved vacation carryover for Town Collector Kim Bent due to staffing challenges. In separate action, the board discussed proposed fire department governance restructuring from Board of Fire Engineers to Weak Chief model, to be referred to Annual Town Meeting for formal consideration.
