North Brookfield Deed Transfers Include $602,300 Sale, Wave of Mortgage-Related Filings
The Worcester County Registry of Deeds recorded 14 property transfers in North Brookfield from Aug. 14 to Sept. 12. Only four included a disclosed sale price, ranging from $14,032 to $602,300, with a median of $44,881. The month's largest transaction was a $602,300 deed recorded Aug. 25, transferred from Thomas Anthony and Mary Contonio to Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems Inc. and Fairway Independent Mortgage Corp. Half of all recorded deeds involved a bank, mortgage servicer or MERS as a party, suggesting loan-related filings made up a significant share of the period's activity. Warren Street was the only street with more than one recorded transfer.
