North Brookfield committees hear departmental budget presentations

North Brookfield's Capital Improvement and Finance Committees convened in a joint meeting but took no formal action. The January 29 session heard budget presentations from the Highway Department, Library, and Accountant's office. Highway staff Randy and Kim reported road material costs may require additional funding, with Chapter 90 funds allocated to Smith Hanson Road and hopes for a striping program.

Library Director Dawn Thistle sought increased funding for books, materials, and youth programs. Town Accountant Sheila LeBlanc presented a budget reflecting the Selectmen's request for 40-hour work weeks.
