Finance Committee Flags Rising Police and Health Budgets

NORTH BROOKFIELD — Finance Committee reviews rising police and health budgets. Chair Joseph Trentacosta led the committee through reviews of the Police Department budget, which increased substantially due to a new contract and elevated salary and incentive costs, and the Board of Health budget, which shows significant clerk salary expenses. The police department faces a $25,000 projected overtime shortfall in fiscal 2026 and has capital needs including computers and a new cruiser.
The Capital Stabilization Committee agreed to fund a new F550 truck for highway snow removal operations. Further review of the board of health budget is needed.
