Conservation Commission backs Lake Lashaway weed treatment

NORTH BROOKFIELD — Conservation Commission backs Lake Lashaway weed-treatment plan. The North Brookfield Conservation Commission voted to support ongoing herbicide treatment for Lake Lashaway through 2027, with application set to begin at the end of May. Chair Christine Morrison, Co-Chair John Turner, Commissioner Brandon Avery, and Secretary Kim George approved Orders of Conditions maintained by the East Brookfield Conservation Commission for the treatment, which followed a similar application four years ago that lasted three years.
The commission also scheduled a site visit for May 3 to review a development plan at 56 Old East Brookfield Road and issued a determination with erosion-control conditions for driveway work at 23 Shore Road.
