Board approves $950,000 infrastructure grant application

North Brookfield pursues $950,000 federal infrastructure grant. The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved submission of a Community Development Block Grant application for drainage and sewer improvements on South Common Street and St. Clair Avenue, identified in a 2014 East Side neighborhood study.

The application seeks $810,000 to $820,000 for construction and $130,000 to $140,000 for grant administration, with the Central Mass Regional Planning Commission providing project management. No local match is required. The town's community need score was rated nine out of 10.
