Board accepts resignation of Town Administrator Aponte

NORTH BROOKFIELD — Board of Selectmen accepts resignation of Town Administrator Ron Aponte effective February 1, 2026. The board unanimously approved warrants and spending totaling more than one million dollars, including Payroll warrant #16 for $357,991.76, School warrant #1066 for $139,053.19, CMRPC warrant #1067 for $10,818.84, General Fund warrant #1068 for $445,920.82, and Construction Projects warrant #1069 for $81,870.85, along with an emergency spending request of $1,575.69 for highway heating oil necessitated by a January snowstorm. The board approved a $12,500 Firefighter Safety Equipment Grant Program application for a gear dryer to extend turnout gear life, accepted a $1,000 donation from North Brookfield Savings Bank to the Fire Department, and granted the Friends of the Town House permission to investigate feasibility of a basement renovation project contingent on consultation with town officials and state agencies.
The resignation of Town Administrator Aponte, effective February 1, 2026, leaves the town's top administrative position vacant.
